Get your directions right
Finding your entrance bearing
The bearing tells the analysis which way your home faces. A minute with a compass makes your reading far more reliable.
- Stand at the centre of your home.Hold your phone flat at waist height, with its top edge pointing at the main door.
- Read the bearing in degrees.North is 0°, east 90°, south 180° and west 270°. A bearing of 92° is just south of east.
- Step away from metal.Fridges, steel cupboards, speakers and wiring can pull a compass off. Take two or three readings and use the middle one.
- Don’t trust the drawing’s top edge.Plans aren’t always drawn with north at the top — the sample plan isn’t.

How do the two readings differ?
The Loading price… room reading uses the room and entrance directions you enter, and covers your home score, room-by-room findings, practical remedies and the eight directions. The Loading price… floor-plan reading scans your plan and adds sixteen zones, thirty-two sectors, your main entrance pada, the 81-pada grid and the 45 devata fields.
When do I pay?
Only after the check. For a room reading we check your directions first, then you make a one-time payment to unlock it. For a floor plan there’s no payment until the scan succeeds.
Which floor plans work?
A clear, labelled, top-down plan of the whole home that shows room names and the main entrance — JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 15 MB. A photograph of a room won’t work.
How do I find my entrance bearing?
Stand at the centre of your home with a compass and point it at the main door. Read the bearing in degrees: North 0°, East 90°, South 180°, West 270°. Don’t guess from the top of the drawing — use the phone compass on this page or any compass app.
Is my floor plan private?
Your plan is held privately and shared with our analysis service through a temporary image link. We clear the uploaded image after a successful scan; the analysis service keeps its scan. Results and your home details stay in your account. Please remove addresses or personal notes before uploading.
Will I need to break walls or rebuild?
Not necessarily. Some findings simply confirm that a room works where it is, and each suggested step is marked with the effort it takes, so you can begin with the small ones. For any structural, electrical or plumbing change, talk to a qualified professional first.
What do the quick-check labels mean?
They summarise commonly published traditional placements: “suggested” is the usual direction for that room, “also used” is a common alternative, and “usually avoided” is a placement traditional guidance advises against. Texts and practitioners differ, so treat these as a starting point — your saved reading scores each room with the full analysis.
Can a consultant visit my home?
Four of the six independent Vastu consultants listed here offer onsite visits. Fees shown are indicative starting points; availability and the final fee are confirmed with you before anything is booked.
