Digital sacred calendars need a place and a date

A calendar recommendation can look precise while leaving out the assumptions behind it. A useful Panchang interface makes the chosen location and date easy to see. It should also distinguish a calculated local result from an editorial festival listing drawn from another source.

Show the context beside the answer

Keep the city, local date and relevant timing convention near the displayed information. If a label refers to the tithi at sunrise, say that directly rather than implying it describes every moment of the day. Visitors should be able to understand the scope without opening a technical settings panel.

Explain the source of an occasion

A festival date may come from a reviewed calendar or an institution's announcement. Identify that source and any regional scope. Do not silently present a date published for one locality as a calculation for another. Where traditions or schedules differ, a brief note is more useful than an unexplained single answer.

Handle missing information honestly

If current calendar data is unavailable, an application can offer a general weekday collection or let the visitor choose manually. It should not invent a tithi to preserve the appearance of completeness. Recommendations can remain helpful when they explain why a selection was made and what information was available.
