Write for listening
Use short sentences, explain unfamiliar names and pause between ideas. Identify the source of historical claims and distinguish documented history from a story told within a tradition. A calm recording does not need dramatic claims to hold attention. Clear structure helps a listener return to the part they want to hear again.
Provide equivalent text
Include a transcript or written version that can be accessed without playing audio. Label sections so visitors can choose a topic instead of listening from the beginning every time. Keep playback under the user's control. A page should not unexpectedly start speaking when someone opens it inside a quiet temple.
Respect people and place
Obtain appropriate permission for recordings made on site, especially when identifiable people or performances are involved. Follow the temple's own guidance on devices and listening. Consider whether the audio is better heard before or after the visit. Technology should support attention to the place, rather than compete with what is happening there.
